Gunala Nadarajan

Gunalan Nadarajan 現任美國密西根大學藝術與設計學院院長,在數位藝術、科技、科學跨領域中同時擔任藝術理論學者、策展人、作家等多重身份。他曾任馬里蘭藝術學院院長與研究副校長,其學術著作與評論曾被翻譯為16種語言。他曾擔任新加坡 Ambulations (1999)、雅加達 180KG (2002)、首爾 media_city (2002)、奧克蘭 Negotiating Spaces (2004)、墨西哥市 DenseLocal (2009) 等國際展覽策展人,以及 2006 岐阜大垣(Ogaki)雙年展、2008 新加坡國際電子藝術論壇藝術總監。他同時擔任聯合國教科文組織與史密松學會的數位文化與創意顧問,也是 SIGGRAPH 和 ACM 等學會成員。

Gunalan Nadarajan is Dean at the Stamps School of Art and Design, University of Michigan. He was Vice Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies at the Maryland Institute College of Arts. He has authored and edited five books and over 100 book chapters, catalogue essays, academic articles and reviews that have been translated into 16 languages. He has curated many international exhibitions including Ambulations (Singapore, 1999), 180KG (Jogjakarta, 2002), media_city (Seoul, 2002), Negotiating Spaces (Auckland, 2004), and DenseLocal (Mexico City, 2009). He was Artistic Director of the Ogaki Biennale 2006, Japan and of ISEA2008 (International Symposium on Electronic Art) in Singapore. He has served as an advisor on creative aspects of digital culture to the UNESCO and the Smithsonian Institution. He is a member of several professional associations including SIGGRAPH, ACM, National Council of University Research Administrators, International Association of Philosophy and Literature, College Art Association, International Association of Aesthetics, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Hiromi Ozaki (Sputniko!)

Hiromi Marrisa Ozaki (尾崎マリサ優美) 亦名為 Sputniko!,是日裔英國藝術家與設計師,擅長於思辨(推想)與批判設計。現任東京大學生產技術研究所所屬 RCA-IIS Tokyo Design Lab 設計實驗室副教授,以及東京藝術大學設計系副教授。2013-2017年間,曾任 MIT 媒體實驗室助理教授,主持 Design Fiction 研究小組。Sputniko!背景為倫敦帝國學院數學與電腦科學學士、英國皇家藝術學院設計碩士。她擅長於運用影片與多媒體裝置呈現和批判科技對社會與人類價值觀的影響,尤其是性別議題。她近期的作品曾於龐畢度中心、瀨戶內國際藝術季、ZKM藝術中心展出。2013 年她榮獲日本Vogue雜誌選為年度卓越女性(Women of the Year),2019 年獲選為 TED Fellows。

Hiromi Ozaki, a.k.a. Sputniko!, is a British/Japanese artist and designer who specializes in the field of speculative and critical design. She is the Associate Professor of RCA-IIS Design Lab in the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo as well as Associate Professor of the Department of Design at Tokyo University of the Arts. From 2013 to 2017, Sputniko! was an Assistant Professor at the MIT Media Lab where she found and directed the Design Fiction research group. Sputniko! majored in BSc Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial College, London, then she went on to pursue a Masters in Design at the Royal College of Art. She is known for her film and multi-media installation works inspired by how technology changes society and people’s values – in particular focusing on gender issues. She has recently presented her works in exhibitions such as the 2019 Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial Japanorama in Pompidou Centre-Metz, Setouchi Art Trienniale, New Sensorium at the ZKM Art Center in Germany (2016). In 2013 she was named one of Vogue Japan’s Women of the Year and in 2019 was selected as one of twenty young researchers, artists, and designers to become TED Fellows.
